A compilation of interesting 3D patents has been published by M. A. Buth.
3D printer have had a lot of attention in the last years. Almost every week new improvements and innovations surface from internet platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo. Many small companies try to establish themselfs with bigger, smaller, better or faster 3D printers. But how about the legal aspect of the technology beeing displayed? Be careful - it may be patent protected by someone else....
This seems to be the case, since some larger companies have started to sue what they regard as a patent infringement. This books helps to focus on the main aspects of the patent situation. How can I research patents effectivly? The number of patents that are 3D related go into the thousands and some are so generally described, that the context with 3D printing is not obvious. The book gives advice on how to research fast and effectively, so that this knowledge alone can help, even in other fields of technique.
Some interesting patents have been research and are being described in detail. Some ideas may sound far fetched but other may give a technically interested reader new inspirations for his own development. Reasearching and reading long winded patent literature over a screen and maybe printing them out, can be exhausing and akward.
This compact book, with its 200 pages and many illustrations, is filled with valuable and technically interesting information and saves a lot of time.
